The inspiration for this project came from the Spanish architect Antoni Gaudi. His mosaics specifically inspired me after seeing them in Barcelona. I pulled inspiration for the silhouette from garments Schiaparelli has created. The oversized embroidered shawl collar and structured bottom in the coat create drama and a new silhouette. The dress has an elegant silhouette with an embroidered corset waistband to accompany the tailored coat.

I used Procreate to design a mosaic pattern. I started with an image I took in Sintra, Portugal, and edited it in Photoshop to create an inspiration image. I used the image as a guideline to draw the pattern. I also drew inspiration from Gaudi's mosaic artworks in Barcelona, Spain.
Taking my mosaic design, I photoshopped it into the pattern pieces to scale and made sure they aligned. I then imported these pattern pieces into the Hatch embroidery software to digitize the final pieces. Hatch was a new software to me, so I acquired a new skill through this process.
Using Clo 3D CAD Pattern Making, I created patterns for the coat and dress. This was a new skill I had to learn to complete this project.
the lining for the coat is boned to create a dramatic silhouette around the bottom. The embroidery pattern pieces were cut out and sewn together, making sure to align them correctly.
